Bag & Pouch Sealing

United Silicone provides silicone seal bars (also referred to as “jaws”) for heat sealing bag and pouch applications. Our silicone formulations are thermally conductive and heat tolerant. Thermal conductivity helps transfer heat to the jaw surface for a secure seal. Temperature tolerance allows our silicone to maintain its structure- not becoming “sticky” or “gummy” when exposed to sealing heat. The temperature tolerance of our formulations eliminates the need for wrapping silicone seal bars in Teflon cloth and tape, resulting in significant cost and time savings.

Typical applications include:

  • Food — side, top, bottom and fin seals
  • Medical – IV bag seals, wound care, liquid medication dispensing capsules

Bowl & Cup Sealing

United Silicone’s high-performance silicone seal heads and silicone support fixtures provide efficient, superior seals on a number of tray and rigid packaging applications. Our thermally conductive seal heads are available with magnetic mounting systems, enabling up to 90x faster changeovers and up to 50% improvement in mounting accuracy.

Trays & Blisters

Generally speaking, the thermoforming process used to create trays and blisters is less precise than the injection molding process used to make cups and bowls. United Silicone’s high-performance silicone heads and silicone support fixtures are well-suited to handle the resulting variability in packages. Our unbonded silicone fixture/gaskets are continuous and eliminate the voids or leaks caused by extruded lengths.
