CDigital Markets & United Silicone Team to Offer Full Color, Digital Print for Short Runs
March 4, 2008: CDigital Markets has teamed with United Silicone to develop a cost effective program for the full color printing of CD’s and DVD’s. CDigital's Bridge Program pairs the Company’s printed film with the Impact HT transfer machine from United Silicone. The program, showcasing the Impact HT, was introduced at last year's Media-Tech Expo in Long Beach.
The program was an immediate hit with two machines being sold within two weeks after the Expo. Brett Schaffer from Soundline stated “The quality of the graphics from CDigital and speed at which the Impact HT prints has allowed me to offer a great solution to my customers.” Soundline was one of the first companies to take delivery of the Impact HT.
With the delivery of the tenth machine expected in March, 2008, CDigital's Tom Booth notes “Our industry’s market continues to trend toward full color print, shorter runs, fast turns, and even more price competition. Our program strikes the optimum balance in meeting these difficult to manage demands.”
The Bridge Program offers replicators and duplicators a simple solution. “CDigital electronically receives your artwork, prints it on our film, and ships the printed film to you the next day. You transfer the images onto your media using your Impact HT.” said Mr. Booth.
The Impact-HT, designed and manufactured at United Silicone, uses roll-on technology to transfer digitally printed images to optical media. At an impressive speed of 500 discs per hour, the Impact HT is fully automated and easy to operate. It utilizes industry standard CD storage spindles and can accommodate a wide variety of disc sizes. The Impact HT is fully warranted by United Silicone, the largest and most recognized manufacturer of transfer machines in the United States. “CDigital has identified a timely need in the optical media industry. The Impact HT has been engineered expressly to meet this need.” said Kim Mark Jackson, General Manager of United Silicone.
CDigital believes its program fills a broad void in the market between the slow “desk top” printers being used for runs of 100 or less and the expensive commercial printing systems that need run sizes greater than 2,000 discs to achieve any price economies. Add the market value of full color print at the same cost and the program really makes sense.
CDigital and United Silicone will participate in the Media-Tech Expo, (Booth #29) held March 4th-5th in Miami, Florida. Media-Tech Expo is an industry trade show that focuses on optical media, solid state memory, and magnetic storage.
